"now that the shades are up and working, I really like them. But there was a few days when they first arrived that I was pretty frustrated. First, the instructions for drilling the holes for the mounting brackets didn't give much information. I couldn't tell which holes to use, or how much clearance was needed from the top and edges of the window frame. I held them in place in several positions, and finally just picked one that looked about right. But I was afraid of drilling holes in the wrong place on my woodwork that I just finished installing. An experienced installer probably wouldn't need to think about this, but I was pretty confused.

Second, the length of the cord was about 2 in. longer than I specified the height of the window. I could not figure out how to remove the little plastic clip and cut a few inches off. I finally figured it out by using a pocket knife, and now I see how easy it is. But for a few days I was searching the internet and going to home depot trying to figure out if I needed to buy a new plastic clip just to cut 2 inches off. I wish the instructions explained it.

Overall, I am still happy with the purchase even though I wish the installation had been a little easier."

Room Darkening Shade - Inside Mount April 11, 2009
"As usual the quality was very good. My prior shades have always been outside mounts to ensure maximum coverage. This recent purchase of inside mounted shades were disappointing due to the reduction taken at the factory. I have light coming around the sides which is visible inside and from outside. You might want to call first and see what reduction they will take so you don't have a similar problem. It was only with these shades since my insided mounted woven woods and cellulars covered fine."
